DTFD has become an important national gathering on fungal diseases, and this year marks 91 years since the establishment of the first specialized laboratory for medical mycology in Serbia and the region. In the previous period, seven DTFD gatherings were held where mycologists, clinicians and researchers from different fields exchanged research results and opinions regarding practice in medical mycology. This 9th meeting in a row is dedicated to innovations in MEDICAL MYCOLOGY and the Ideas project, financed by the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia – FingalCaseFinder.
The 9th DTFD is organized by the Serbian Society of Medical Mycology (SSMM), with the co-organizers of the Serbian Medical Society (SLD), the European Confederation for Medical Mycology (ECMM), the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of Serbia.
The gathering is intended for medical microbiologists, infectious disease specialists, hematologists, oncologists, emergency medicine specialists, immunologists, dermatologists, pediatricians and all those interested in medical mycology.

About Belgrade
Belgrade is located at the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers, where the Pannonian plains meet the Balkans.
The medieval city of Singidunum, which has been known by its Slavic name Belgrade since 878, was built on the site where the Belgrade Fortress and Kalemegdan Park are still located today, above the place where the Sava flows into the Danube. Because of this position, Belgrade is aptly called the gateway to the Balkans, and the door to Central Europe.
Geographically, Belgrade includes three areas: Old Town on the right bank of the Sava and Danube, New Belgrade on the left bank of the Sava, and Zemun on the banks of the Danube outside New Belgrade.
